Process
How a project actually runs.
Six stages: brief, scope, system, production, preflight, handover. The rules are decided before the pieces are made — which is why production is fast and revisions are few. You finish holding print-ready files and the editable source.
01
Brief
You send what you're planning, the date it has to be ready, the sizes or dieline, the copy, and who signs it off. A voice note on WhatsApp is fine.
02
Scope
A plain answer back: what gets made, in what order, by when, and what it costs. If the date doesn't fit, you hear it now — not three days before the event.
03
System
The rules come first — mark, palette, type hierarchy, grid — proved on the hardest piece in the project, not the easiest.
04
Production
Every remaining piece is made from the system. This stage is fast because the decisions are already made.
05
Preflight
Bleed, trim, minimum text size, resolution at final scale, CMYK separations, overprint, and type converted to curves.
06
Handover
Print-ready PDFs, the editable CorelDRAW source, the export set and the fonts list. You own the artwork.
01Timing
How long things actually take.
- Single poster or social piece24–72 hours
- Social media system1–2 weeks
- Event or expo identitySystem in 3–5 days, full rollout in 1–3 weeks
- Brand identity with applications2–4 weeks
- Packaging, per pack1–2 weeks, faster for variants
- Editorial document2–4 weeks, depending on page count
Near Eid, elections and big events every press is busy. If your event is on the 14th, plan for final approval about a week earlier.
02Your side
What to send before we start.
- The goal — what this has to achieve, and for whom
- The date you need it in hand, not the date at the press
- Sizes, your printer's spec sheet, or the converter's dieline
- Final copy in both languages if it runs in Urdu and English
- Logos in vector (.cdr, .ai, .eps or .svg), not screenshots
- Two or three references — including what you don't want
- Who approves it, and a budget range
03Questions
Before we start.
How many revision rounds are included?
Two on the system or chosen direction. Production afterwards runs straight. Corrections to legal or regulatory copy are never counted as a revision.
What happens if the copy changes after design starts?
Wording can move at any time. Restructuring — new sections, a different page order, a different offer — is new work, because the layout has to be rebuilt rather than edited.
Do you work with my printer?
Yes. Send their spec sheet or template at the start and the artwork is built to it, so the job goes through first time.
How do payments work?
Typically an advance to start and the balance at handover. Longer programmes are staged by milestone. Terms are agreed in writing before work begins.
Can you handle a large programme?
Yes. Kashif works on partnership and contract with organisations, and PerfectAd has an established team for enterprise work and projects at any scale.
